Responsibility as a Program Manager

Reporting to the VP of Product Mgmt, you will own the implementation of our change management and launch processes for a segment of our HotSchedules Clarifi suite of products.

After you've mastered the implementation of our strategies, we expect innovation and expansion - your ability to execute to a given plan is just as important to us as the new ideas you can bring to the table.

This position is in our Product department’s Program Management Office. The PMO is central to our products' cross-team success, has high-level visibility across the organization, and a reputation for getting things done.

Because of that reputation, we often come across projects outside of the launch program that will need a PMO lead. These are exciting opportunities to learn and grow within our organization, often outside the scope of what your key area of focus is.

While this role is within the PMO, it is closely aligned with the product development process. We enable the Product and Engineering teams to be successful by tracking a feature from the roadmap, to launch, and to its end-of-life or depreciation.

Roadmap tracking is core to making sure we as a Product Team deliver what we commit to. You are able to identify and raise risk - concisely, informed, and often to the executive level.

Launching a product or a feature requires enablement. You will be responsible for executing internal and external enablement plans. We've crafted and refined a system to rank and appropriately communicate about new feature releases, so you won't be starting from scratch.

A end-of-life plan for a feature is just as critical as rolling it out new. Removing or replacing a feature requires making pragmatic decisions and gaining buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. This is where your credibility and stakeholder management skills come into play: you're the agent of change, and willing to get things done.

What makes you a good fit for this position?

  • As a Program Manager, you will have your hands in every department - strong communication and stakeholder management skills are non-negotiable.
  • A sense of pride on being responsible and credible: you are the person who always takes notes, never misses a deadline, catches key details others miss, and seeks out answers to open questions

Recap of What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the successful delivery of multiple, simultaneous projects within the overall roadmap, launch, and deprecation programs
  • Take ownership of coordination, risk mitigation, organization and tracking of project tasks & activities
  • Coordinate launch-to-market activities with sales enablement, product & marketing teams
  • Coordinate the delivery of in-depth product documentation and tools to the support and implementation teams
  • Manage stakeholder communications and provide regular program status updates as part of standard PMO process

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Better than average work ethic - going above and beyond is just something you do.
  • Problem-solving skills and a desire to dig deeper. If something seems off, you investigate; if you uncover a problem, you're there to help solve it.
  • Being inventive and independent. You can work with minimum supervision - if something is stopping progress, you come up with creative solutions to unblock it (but also know when to ask for help).
  • Experience in conducting meetings, crafting thorough documentation, producing status reports, and chasing down action-items
  • Aptitude for data analytics - there's a lot of data around which features are enabled for which customers - you should be comfortable taking on a large data set, breaking it down into readable formats, and making data-driven decisions
  • Proficient in or a quick learner with project management software (ex: MS Project, Smartsheets, Clarizen, Asana)
  • HotSchedules Product knowledge and experience in restaurant operations are highly desirable
  • 3-5 years professional experience as a Project Manager or related field
  • PM certification helpful (PMBOK, PRINCE2 or other)
