We are seeking an amazing Project Manager – Healthcare Policy and Research to join our growing team as part of our Discern Health practice. W2O Group is looking for driven, savvy game changers who are ready to dive into the trenches and make an immediate impact.

Discern Health, a W2O company based in the Baltimore MD/Washington DC area, is a growing healthcare consulting practice providing strategic direction and solutions to companies and organizations across the healthcare industry. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct research and analysis on healthcare issues, such as measurement and reporting of quality and costs

  • With oversight from Project Leads, draft high-quality written deliverables, such as client-facing reports, research papers, slide presentations, publications, analyses of relevant legislative/regulatory developments, comments to federal agencies on proposed regulation and policy changes, etc.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Analysts, including reviewing project work and deliverables and providing timely and constructive feedback

  • Provide project direction by interpreting client needs and defining scopes of work

  • Ensure efficient completion of client projects, including coordinating logistics, tracking key milestones, and monitoring budgets, and managing team productivity and project outcomes

  • Interact directly with leading organizations in the healthcare industry

  • Lead internal and client-facing project meetings and communications

  • Provide meaningful recommendations and outcomes for clients to ensure satisfaction and retention

  • Demonstrate commitment to delivering superior results for clients, including taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of deliverables

  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts, including the development of proposals

  • Contribute to the organizational evolution through participation in initiatives to improve workflow efficiencies, client outcomes, communication, and workplace culture

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years of experience relevant to health care reform (e.g. performance measurement, health care delivery models, payment reform, health data analysis, etc.) along with prior supervisory/managerial experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; advanced degree in related field (e.g. public health, health policy, health economics, health care administration, etc.) strongly preferred

  • Ability to manage complex projects and simultaneous work product deliverables and timelines

  • Excellent and demonstrated research and writing skills

  • Strong communication (written and oral), listening, and presentation skills

  • Excellent analytical skills; experience with quantitative analysis and ability to understand complex datasets is a plus

  • Ability to develop creative approaches and solutions necessary to resolve complex problems

  • Independent thinker, but team player who works effectively and efficiently as part of a team

  • Highly organized with an attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines; timely and proactive communication regarding deadline concerns

  • Ability to proactively take initiative

  • Professional presence, performs with a sense of urgency and with a client service orientation

  • Thrives in fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
