What we’re looking for:

Modernize is looking for an experienced Project Manager capable of driving impactful outcomes for multiple teams business-wide. If you are self-driven, loves to dig into data, and takes pride in designing and optimizing business processes, then this is the role for you!

In this position, you will manage strategic projects prioritized by Modernize's executive team by leveraging your superior business acumen, project management, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills. The role lives under our Business Intelligence umbrella and the team spearheads our fast-moving strategic priorities, by acting as the objective experts on drivers and trends while facilitating on-target performance. Using strategic planning and decision making with deep data analytics and insights, you will develop and drive strategic and operational improvements across the organization.

 What you’ll do:

  • Work with the company's executive leadership to define, launch, and drive strategic and operational initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of projects including business requirements documentation, stakeholder analysis, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, scope, definition and project communication.
  • Influence decisions and facilitate change management through collaboration and leadership
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses and developing final recommendations
  • Design both the business logic and the technical specifications to extract key data elements
  • Facilitate implementation of operational improvements through organization of relevant partners
  • Model process changes to estimate the impact on performance and return on investment of all proposed initiatives
  • Quantify the value / size of new opportunities to inform and prioritize initiatives
  • Review business performance, identify areas of opportunity, conduct A/B test and other experiments to measure the impact of new features and processes
  • Create dashboards to communicate business performance in relation to initiative goals
  • Develop company and function performance metrics and drive their achievement
  • Conduct high priority analyses and present recommendations to business leaders across the organization
  • Provide first rate analytic support via hands-on Excel work while leveraging other tools as necessary (SQL, Salesforce, Python, Google Analytics, Qlikview)
  • Perform ad-hoc activities as requested by the management team

What you need:

  • B.S. or M.S. in business-related or quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Math, Engineering, or similar discipline)
  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end project management, business strategy planning, finance, analytics or sales planning
  • Prior success handling or executing multiple high-impact, fast-paced, collaborative projects
  • Exceptional problem solver with the ability to transition between detailed data and high-level insights
  • Ability to turn complex and ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions and partner cross-functionally to act on them
  • Ability to develop and leverage frameworks to help structure the team’s thinking, facilitate alignment on key strategic decisions among various stakeholders, and identify the 80/20 opportunities to reach insightful, actionable answers without boiling the ocean with analysis overload
  • Presence to interact with both executive management and front-line employees
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analysis and presentation skills: Quick and high quality analysis and presentation creation using advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of a data analytics toolkit, such as SQL, R, Python

Nice to haves:

  • PMP certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience working in Qlikview
  • Previous operational experience at a high-growth startup/technology company
