MongoDB is a modern database platform that helps developers build faster, more reliable applications. We power some of the world’s most innovative products and services out of our offices worldwide, from New York to Sydney, Berlin to Dublin, and just about everywhere in between.

MongoDB Education is a diverse team of dedicated engineers, technical writers, and curriculum developers with a mission to empower MongoDB developers on the platform through education, programs and community. MongoDB University and Docs enable our community to learn and deeply use MongoDB. We create great user experiences by providing outstanding learning opportunities.

We’re searching for a Sr. Program Manager to be the mission control for our Education Content teams. This is a unique role that brings curriculum creators, technical writers, engineers, designers, and product managers together in a more cohesive way. You’ll manage day-to-day content projects, develop processes that create “upstream” opportunities for content-driven thinking and help establish practices that enable content strategy to flow across our suite of developer experience sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with content area leads
  • Serve as the go-to point of contact for content projects, removing roadblocks and tracking dependencies
  • Drive planning, roadmapping and communications for content projects to ensure timely implementation
  • Create and roll out scalable processes that empower the team and streamline their work
  • Manage Jira boards, dashboards, tickets and automation to enable transparency and manage workloads
  • Elevate the team’s presence within the organization
  • Build trust and partnership between content teams, design, product, and engineering
  • Coach the content team to help them deliver, while enabling them to shine
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience as a Content Producer, Content Lead, Creative Program Manager or other related strategic project/program role (tech industry is a huge plus)
  • Ability to speak with confidence about content activities and workflows
  • Jira proficiency (Jira wizardry is a huge plus)
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; knowing when and how to share with the right audiences
  • Experience managing organizational change, understanding how to bring people along the journey
  • A coaching mindset; we’re not looking for project managers as much as human-centered team enablers
  • Diplomatic negotiation style
  • Natural leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Keen sense of when to follow a process and when process is getting in the way
  • Proactive approach, pride of work, and passion for iterative workflow development
  • Expertise in creative, flexible, effective ways to work with global teams
Success Measures
  • In 3 months you will have ramped up on MongoDB Education offerings and created new processes for the content teams
  • In 6 months you will have rolled out processes, templates and frameworks for teams to use in their planning and execution
  • In 12 months you will have automated some of our processes, enhanced workflows in JIRA, and made significant progress toward interdepartment and cross-functional processes that improve content creation
