Senior Program Manager
Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team, along with our current staff, will temporarily work from home until it is safe to return to our offices.
Atlassian is seeking an experienced program manager to work closely with our ‘Head of IT, Strategic Programs. You'll work to boost the effectiveness of program teams by championing tried and tested delivery patterns / plays, and operationalizing underlying processes that make program teams execute with efficiency. This is the perfect job for a program manager with general management and / or operational experience in transformation programs and who has a keen interest in shaping winning teams.
We need someone comfortable working with leadership, program managers, product managers, system analysts and engineers across different teams within a quick-paced, fast-growing company to deliver awesome solutions and services. You'll bring order and focus while leaving room for flexibility and innovation, as well as bringing infectious urgency to those around you. You'll be a mentor, multiplier, influencer, negotiator and awesome communicator rolled into one!

Key Responsibilities:
People
- Support teams on leadership updates, executive communication package, and facilitate cross functional updates for strategic programs
- Coach and mentor on Atlassian program standard methodologies for developing and supporting strong program teams
- Partner with Finance, Talent and program teams, to help manage headcount and forecasting across projects
Operations
- Work with the ‘Head of IT, Strategic Programs’ to tackle operational challenges to support scaling the strategic programs organization
- Maintain a regular review cadence for large programs
- Establish Steering committee and leadership update cadence for large programs
Process and Project Management
- Evangelize Project and Program management standard methodologies throughout the company
- Coordinate and track team projects and quarterly goals
- Promote, define, refine and enforce lightweight processes that fit our delivery model
- Serve as a point of contact for geographically distributed teams
- Coach/Mentor Dev Managers and Team Leads on relevant project management practices
- Manage and contribute towards Atlassian Bootcamp, On-boarding and Knowledge Acceleration
Measurement and Status
- Communicate status and date changes to the company
- Lead building the program and value metrics / measurement package for key performance indicators
- Maintain and continuously improve metrics on the IT dashboard

Experience
- 5+ years experience managing software projects, working with software development teams, and/or working with IT teams
- General management / operational experience
- 5+ years working directly with CXO level management and/or leading senior level steering committees
- Broad knowledge of software industry and technology trends
- Experience with contemporary software development methodologies: Agile, Scrum, XP, etc.
It's desireable, but not required if:
- Coordinating large, distributed teams across multiple projects simultaneously is the reason you get up in the morning.
- You relish solving the operational challenges that a rapidly scaling team brings; wrangling operations is as important to you as running a large program.
- Your personal mantra is 'bring it on' when faced with a new challenge
- In your mind, the word "multi-task" is redundant
- You say 'I already took care of that' at least 5 times per day
