Role Description

Reporting to the Director, Agile Delivery our Senior Scrum Master will play a key role in our quest to form a world class delivery function. As our first Scrum Master hired in Austin, an in-depth knowledge of and extensive experience in practicing Lean and Agile methods will be essential as you will be responsible for ensuring that Scrum is implemented effectively, consistently applied and constantly refined to enable the efficient delivery of quality software. Initially you will be working across four teams of varying sizes, some of which are new to Scrum. 

We have established a strong Agile identity and community at Fourth, through collaboration with our Agile Practitioners across the globe you will work to establish and strengthen this in Austin.

As a senior team member, you will be expected to demonstrate Lean-Agile Leadership always! You’ll work with all

key stakeholders to ensure the impetus and understanding needed to drive Agile adoption are present, holding

workshops, steering and coaching sessions to educate or encourage where required.

•Is an experienced, assertive yet versatile servant leader who is emotionally mature, self-aware and supportive. Good listening skills, empathy, optimism and resilience are a must.

•Can demonstrate proven ability to empower and motivate their teams in order to bring about successful change.

•Is a natural facilitator adept at working with diverse and technically strong teams. 

•Has excellent communication skills and an ability to manage and resolve conflict. You need be able to shield the team from outside distractions and keep the team focused on quality, ensuring value is continually delivered.

•Has experience working with senior stakeholders i.e. Product Management at delivery organizations with shared dependencies across multiple work streams.

•Has extensive experience of working with Agile environment with knowledge Lean-Agile principles and methodologies.

•Has experience running Scrum and Kanban for multi-disciplinary teams.

•Can demonstrate experience and application of end to end Agile Delivery Process. 

•Has the ability to manage dependencies across work streams, align teams to common priorities and remove impediments to progress and ensure successful project delivery.

•Has experience of identifying, managing and helping to mitigate project issues and risks.

•Has a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments.

•Is technically astute with ability to demonstrate a good understanding of the SDLC and Dev Ops software development practices.

•Demonstrates a passion to deliver high quality solutions on time and within budget. 

•Is a member of the Agile community that is driven to continuously improve themselves and their environment too. 

•Is an excellent communicator, who is great at building rapport and good guiding decision-making. You know how to win the hearts and minds of the team members and forging trusting relationships.
