About the department
Program Managers at Cloudflare sit at the intersection of software development, design, and business strategy. We shape high-level plans but also get our hands dirty. On an average day, you might be presenting new processes or improvements to existing ones to senior leadership, create an end to end execution plan with realistic estimates from all functions involved, work with partner teams to consult on how to most efficiently solve a problem, iterate on templates and tools, measure efficiencies, and generally make things happen. We have ultimate responsibility for understanding and solving the most pertinent needs, and manage through experience and influence to deliver concrete results
We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Technical Program Manager with experience managing partnerships and who thrives on solving challenges to join our team.
In this role, your main responsibility will be to work with engineering, product, sales, and support teams to build successful onboarding program for new products and services.
You will play an active part in collecting requirements, setting up deliverables, managing stakeholder expectations and working with various functions to deliver success, and work as a liaison between product/engineering teams and partnership teams.
You bring a passion for matching up business needs with building technically innovative solutions, and excel at shifting between the two—understanding how big-picture goals inform technical details, and vice-versa.
You are able to implement and drive process and persistently make progress and adjustments, and build programs to scale.
The ideal candidate is flexible and comfortable in playing multiple roles (diplomat, negotiator, reporter, coach), leading multiple initiatives, and can manage change effectively.
- 7+ years experience in project management or 3+ experience in program management
- Solid foundation in software development, with keen interest in working with complex technical operations, data structures, software design, and building large, distributed systems.
- Proven track record on creating realistic project plans, and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Experience working with multiple time zones and multiple cross functional teams.
- Strong competency with Confluence, JIRA (admin-level experience strongly preferred), and various development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Kaizen, Scrum, etc).

- Role is based in SF or Austin.
- Bonus points for previous experience working with security products (DDoS, Bot Management)
What Makes Cloudflare Special?
We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.
Project Galileo: We equip politically and artistically important organizations and journalists with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.
Project Athenian: We created Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration.
Path Forward Partnership: Since 2016, we have partnered with Path Forward, a nonprofit organization, to create 16-week positions for mid-career professionals who want to get back to the workplace after taking time off to care for a child, parent, or loved one.
Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!
