Technical Project Manager
Summary
Aristocrat is looking for a Technical Project Manager to join a dynamic and innovative development group based in Austin, Texas. Our team builds next generation game development kit (GDK) for digital and real money gaming. The team uses Agile methodology for project delivery and operates in a fast paced business environment.
A successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplined, highly technical team responsible for delivering best in industry solutions. Excellent problem solving skills are a must as well as knowledge of Agile development practices including Scrum. This role will be responsible for executing the duties of a Project Manager identifying and removing any obstacles that impede the team's ability to deliver on time and with good quality. Supporting a global business, you will be required to understand and deliver against a diverse set of business needs as well as liaison and manage and team relationships.
What you'll do

  • Drives integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance
  • Works within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and execute the development schedule for major product releases
  • Creates, and manages software delivery schedules to deliver to business needs
  • Creates and communicates weekly status reports for stakeholders
  • Manages and prioritizes product features/issues for own team as well as dependency issues between cross teams
  • Manages and tracks team velocity and other KPIs in relation to the plan and published progress reports
  • Maintains dependency plans between planned sprints across engineering, internal partners, and third parties
  • Manages, and appropriately escalates, delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the product development initiatives
  • May perform hands-on reviews of product backlog and designs in addressing delivery impediments or product quality issues
  • Ensures deliverables across engineering teams are high quality and clearly documented
  • Conducts daily stand-ups and ensures that the team is continuously learning from the past
  • Manages communication with global teams around scope, schedules, code integration and change management
  • Sets process standards and is a thought leader among experienced global Project Manager peers
  • This position requires some domestic and international travel
  • All other duties as assigned.


What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of technical project management experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience, is preferred
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of software design with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility
  • Coding experience and ability to review code with team members and help drive solutions
  • Experience managing Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions that meet customer expectations for timeliness and quality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate across third parties and technical and business product managers
  • Experience in clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing teams
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies
