We are currently seeking a Residential Acreage Title Examiner to join our Operations team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing sector. This is a remote based position.
Performance Objectives
- Direct experience with examination in Texas. Research analyze and evaluate pertinent record documents for determination of ownership, legal descriptions, and any matters pertaining to title, using respective title plant software, including, but not limited to, geographic information, property surveys, and legal descriptions, title orders, customer information, ownership histories, physical address, terrorist watch list and name searches. This includes new home construction, residential retail, commercial and acreage (unimproved land) transactions.
- The ability to research and interpret real estate documents, district court proceedings, probates, Affidavits of Heirships, and abstract and analyze deeds, mortgages, easements, judgments, tax assessments, and other applicable instruments. Prepare reports, including describing any title encumbrances encountered during searching activities, and outline clear actions to clear clouded title.
- The ability to communicate effectively with managers, underwriting attorneys, customers, and members of the title department.
- Attention to detail combined with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to make insurability decisions, understand and translate title insurance guidelines. Maintain a detailed understanding of local zoning regulations, ordinances, and land use restrictions when conducting title searches. Understand new Plats for subdivisions and how to build base files.
- The ability to review surveys to ensure compliance with underwriter guidelines and to ensure the proper exceptions are added to the title commitment for title policy. A sound understanding of metes and bounds.
- Update commitments/search products as required by customers.
- Experience in Right of Way projects, Wind and Solar projects, and Commercial deals preferrable
- Performs other related duties as required.
Competitive Candidate Profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in title examination
- Experience with examination in the Texas area preferred
- Must be able to multi-task, demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient on computer and Microsoft Suite. Along with strong problem solving/analytical skills.
- Title Industry: Familiarity with land title records (deeds, maps, Deed of Trust, Affidavits etc.) is a plus. Ramquest, File Scan, Integrity Title Plant and Soft Pro beneficial.

- Ability to process a high volume of orders with accuracy with attention to detail.
- Abiding sense of urgency in all tasks
- Basic familiarity with title insurance search concepts and underwriting requirements for various transaction types.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for long periods, work on a computer with repetitive motions and utilize devices typically found in an office environment.
- Able to safely lift to 35 pounds at a time using safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively with another person.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to work in an office environment as required.
- Travel requirements: 0% or as required for company needs/training.
This role is eligible for: Variable Compensation
Salary Range: $25-28 per hour + bonus
