Aspire Food Group is a global food-tech company based in Austin, Texas. We address food security and food sustainability by developing pioneering technology to commercialize the cleanest and most ethical source of animal protein in the world: insects.

The primary role of the Account Manager is to foster and maintain business relationships with key accounts and strategically identified customers to generate sales in alignment with Aspire's vision, strategy and goals. You will be integral in helping us develop and hit account-specific goals including accuracy in forecasting, distribution and SKU targets, volume objectives, product placements, promotional execution, SRP management, and overall revenue.

Essential Responsibilities

Sales and Account Management

  • Seek, identify, develop and maintain trust-based relationships with key accounts, retail stakeholders, affiliates, etc.
  • Provide exceptional support as the primary point of contact and liaison for B2B retail customers, vendors, brokers, distributors, and Aspire internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with key account representatives, co-packers, vendors, and internal sales & marketing and product development departments to develop and execute successful customer activations, specifically providing timely and accurate details to clients, ensuring correct delivery and invoicing of products and marketing materials, and overseeing the success of promotions and incentive programs
  • Monitoring internal operations to assure timelines are met and actions are taken to promote client success
  • Focus on achievement of optimal AMPPS (assortment, merchandising, price, promotion and shelving) by account
  • Improve and, to what extent possible, standardize the customer on-boarding and engagement process
  • Provide recommendations for additional distribution/ regional chain requirements
  • Manage and make data-driven recommendations for use of trade funds to support marketing and innovate retail results (ex: displays, POS, shippers, cross-promotions, etc.)
  • Work with the CEO, sales/marketing department, and the product development department to ensure sales strategy and goals are in alignment with the allocation of finished goods
  • Clearly communicate the status of on-going initiatives to internal and external stakeholders (ex: retail results, market conditions, competitor data)
  • Identify, measure, analyze, and report on departmental success metrics, milestones and influence on organizational goals
  • Maintain and improve job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Lead the development of a student athlete outreach program
  • Expect travel (~10%)

Broker Management

  • Manage broker partners through regular meetings (in person and virtual), scorecard creation and execution and clear communication and follow-up to ensure execution excellence
  • Pre-plan with broker partner by reviewing data and developing customer strategies prior to customer meetings
  • Work with broker to provide post-promotional analysis to understand ROI and competitive activity

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • 4-7 years: account management
  • 2+ years: retail account management
  • 1+ year(s): broker management
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity
  • Proficient at analyzing and interpreting various types of data
