About the Role

Be a team leader for the SDR team (25% of time) by helping reps with messaging, sales tactics, and sharing best practices. Actively research, contact, and qualify prospects (75% of time) that could be Shipwell TMS and/or freight customers. Research, email, and call prospects within the target market to get discovery meetings scheduled with Account Executives.  Learn the Shipwell TMS platform and it’s available features and functionality, work as a leader of the Sales Development Reps, partner with the Account Executives, and be a proactive go-getter.

What you’ll do when you get here:

  • Lead a team of Sales Development Representatives; mentoring with messaging, sales best practices, and tactics for successfully setting meetings with cold prospects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the industry and the company’s new products/services/pricing plans. 
  • Be the SDR subject matter expert representative for the sales team and potentially with other groups (Marketing, Product)
  • Build, manage, and convert your own list of leads with intent to qualify key leads and expand the sales pipeline.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the target market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and account executives. 
  • Manage end-to-end prospecting and closing self-serve customers on our TMS platform.
  • Prospecting into personal and targeted lists by building relationships to develop new sales opportunities from cold or inactive accounts.
  • Outbound telephone-based prospecting for Shipwell’s tech-enabled execution software.
  • Update and maintain the sales database as appropriate, including new lead data discovery tied to achieving team and personal goals.
  • Report on weekly results, both qualitative and quantitative to the Head of Sale Operations. 


What you need to have:

  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience
  • 3+ years Logistics experience
  • Prior sales and customer service experience
  • Leadership skills and abilities; a desire and drive to help others succeed
  • Tech savvy skills
  • An exceptional level of drive and passion for results
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated the ability to deal with rejection.
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations / tell a compelling story


What is Preferred:

  • Leadership Experience
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Previous marketing or sales experience
