What is the role?

The Business Development Representative role is a fast-tracked position to develop a career in Sales & Marketing. Positioned within Meltwater's fastest-growing division, the Social Solutions Team, we are a full suite business-to-business Social Media solution, helping brands research, monitor, analyze, and manage social media channels and conversations.

This position, uniquely placed across both the Inbound Sales and Marketing teams is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and converting new business opportunities. To accomplish this, you will work with inbound and marketing nurtured leads, qualifying them into meeting and demo opportunities for Meltwater's most successful sales reps.

As the globally leading Social Media Software solution, you will have thousands of global brands to refer to as clients. We typically work with Marketing, Social Media, and Digital departments within most industries, so being able to demonstrate knowledge of the challenges these teams face, as well as a strong understanding of Meltwaters solutions, is key to your success. Our tools are utilized across a wide number of verticals, and you would be working directly with decision-makers in a consultative fashion, giving you exposure to companies and organizations of all shapes and sizes, helping you rapidly expand your business acumen.

You will:

  • Work in a team environment to drive Meltwater's revenue growth through consultative sales within the Americas pipeline with a focus in the LATAM market.
  • Consult with companies on how they use social media data to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Work towards a monthly revenue target and lead-to-sale conversion goals.
  • Liaise closely with a mentor to ensure you are continuously developing your sales, marketing, and leadership skills.

In addition:

  • You will see a rapid career progression! Successful BDRs who have delivered excellent results will begin the training process for a full-cycle ownership role and will be given the opportunity to take on leadership roles. Our leadership track also opens international transfer opportunities!
  • If people management isn't your long term goal, then Meltwater also offers its top sellers the chance to move into an Account Executive role, before the opportunity to move into a Global Enterprise role.

Short phone call so we can get to know each other, an in-house “Meet Meltwater” for successful candidates, followed by a formal interview with the management team.
