Business Analyst – Austin, TX

What we’re looking for, in a nutshell:

The Business Analyst will be the key liaison between the technical and business teams at Amherst Residential. This role focuses on providing technical solutions to business needs and will be involved in all phases of the SDLC from identifying the business problem, gathering and documenting the business requirements through the development, testing and implementation of software. This position will work closing with the internal development team and business stakeholders throughout the process. The right candidate will be comfortable wearing multiple hats: analyst, QA and project manager. The Business Analyst must be comfortable working on tight timelines with a cross functional team with minimal supervision. This position will report to the VP of Systems Analysis.

A little more about this role:

  • Responsibilities will include gathering and documenting business requirements, writing formal project documentation, planning and performing user acceptance testing, and assisting with implementations.
  • Work as an integral part of a project team made up of business stakeholders, vendors and development resources responsible for planning, developing, testing and implementing technical solutions.
  • Work closely with end users to understand the business processes and identify and document the business needs.
  • Works closely with vendors and developers to understand how our systems work, to identify innovative solutions and to troubleshoot and resolve issues. 
  • Provides post production support to end users following implementations as well as ongoing tier 2 support.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the VP of Systems Analysis. 

What you’ll need to have:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager or a degree in a related field required.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred. 
  • Experience with financial systems or property management software preferred.
  • Real estate or financial services background is a plus.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be tech-savvy with the proven ability to understand and explain software.
  • Must be able to work both independently and with a team. 
  • Must be comfortable working on tight timelines in a start-up like environment.
