The current surge in e-commerce is providing Gembah strong tailwinds, and the company is growing rapidly. The overall e-commerce eco-system is also growing rapidly, and we recognize that there are countless partnership opportunities that we have not yet capitalized on.
The Business Development and Partnership Manager will manage all aspects of building out our partnership strategy, including sourcing, pitching, and negotiating new strategic partners, as well as collaborating with other teams to execute business development initiatives. Targeted partnerships include, but are not limited to, e-commerce solution and service providers, e-commerce seller aggregators, and e-commerce marketplaces.
Success For You In This Role Looks Like
Keys to success include finding and closing the right partnerships, but also ensuring that the partnerships are successfully implemented and executed over time:
- Sourcing and Prospecting - Identify potential target companies in targeted partnership categories, identify, connect, and set up meetings with relevant decision makers.
- Pitching and Closing - Develop and deliver pitch to prospective partners, develop partnership proposals including discovering objectives, defining partnership requirements, and developing value propositions. Convert proposals into partnership agreements that are promptly implemented.
- Partner Onboarding - Implement, improve and standardize key processes to ensure consistent and reliable journey from prospect to successful partnership. Ensure partnership marketing commitments are honored to drive awareness.
- Partnership Success - Identify key factors that drive partnership success, and work closely with marketing and account management internally and with the partner, to ensure both organizations deliver on partnership objectives.
- Process Improvement - Leverage insights and analytics of operational metrics to determine process improvements that will increase partnership success.
- Market Development - Continuously seek out new partnership opportunities and markets. Collaborate with Marketing to identify and test new market segments and strategies to grow our partnership universe.
- Competitive Analysis - Monitor competition and industry trends to identify shifting market conditions, risks, and opportunities. Present key insights and strategy implications to senior management in a proactive manner.
What we are looking for
A self-starter who has the energy, influence, and people skills to build and service strategic partnerships:
- You have 4+ years of experience in consultative sales, building partnerships, market/business development, account management, and/or business start-up including independently leading complex negotiations end-to-end.
- You are analytically driven, with the ability to problem solve using data, and develop solutions with a clear-eyed and impartial focus on efficiency.
- You have demonstrated experience with negotiating commercial terms and driving contractual agreements in coordination with legal counsel and finance.
- You can operate independently with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment, and work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally
