What we’re looking for: 

Modernize is looking for a driven, and confident Business Development Manager to incubate and execute new, highly accretive relationships which expand the Modernize ecosystem footprint and revenue opportunity.

In this position, you will identify and implement strategic partnerships which drive indirect (i.e outside of our internal sales channels) revenue and profit. Your knowledge of sophisticated partner development and cross-functional program management will be put to the test as you formulate and test creative concepts. Working in a highly collaborative team environment with the EVP of Business Development and other senior leaders, you will participate in the quarterly business cadence for setting and pursuing business goals. We are seeking applicants that have a passion for driving creative ideas through to sustainable revenue.

The Modernize work environment is very dynamic and requires a person who is comfortable operating at a fast pace, who will proactively collaborate with multiple teams and outside partners while driving results and execution excellence.

What you will do:

Ecosystem evaluation, opportunity assessment, and business case development.

  • Evaluate the partnership opportunities currently underway and explore new ones.

  • Prioritize potential initiatives based on complexity, revenue opportunity, and ROI.

  • Initiate the formal Modernize project approval process beginning with a business case and comprehensive program/project plan.

Program development, management, and optimization.

  • Create strategic partner relationships and gain a deep understanding of their objectives, approach, business processes, results, and challenges.

  • Create go-to-market, implementation, and results assessment plans to orchestrate the entire life-cycle of partner relationships.

  • Meet with partners from Directors to C-level executives to present consultative solutions to gain partner commitment and campaign optimization

  • Network with our account base and provide key recommendations, testimonials, and case studies to internal/external stakeholders

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, product, and engineering to see that the customer receives the highest standards of service from all parts of the organization

Solutions consultant and business results owner.

  • Quickly develop a master of industry mechanics and contractor operations. Demonstrate deep knowledge of our solutions and the operational processes used for delivery.

  • Positively challenge conventional thinking to find new and innovative ways to improve program success.

  • Intelligently relate business decisions back to the impact on our company’s bottom-line.

  • Mine and analyze data for insight to identify risk factors and ways to optimize performance.

  • Accurately forecast and track key partnership metrics. Prepare and deliver partner performance reports on an ongoing basis.

Team player and culture fit.

  • Integrate with the sales, customer success teams and the Modernize organization at large. Embrace our core values work positively across all departments.

What you will need:

  • 5 to 7 years of enterprise-level business development experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of highly cross-functional program and project management successes.

  • Strong data analysis and analytical skills with experience using a business intelligence suite such as Tableau or QlikView.

  • Bachelor's degree in business.

  • Experience in lead generation / digital demand generation marketing a strong plus.

  • Experience with third-party lending platforms and knowledge of basic financing concepts is a plus.

  • Start-up experience highly preferred
