You will be responsible for leading a team of Business Development Representatives and continually increase their individual and team performance through recruiting, coaching, training and systematically growing the team’s capabilities to maximize achievement.

 

You are an excellent judge of character, astute in managing challenging goals, coaching to process and methodology and you have a track record in making others succeed. This role has direct management responsibilities over a team of business development representatives, reporting to Director of Business Development. 

 

This is not a silo position. We want a collaborative and energetic individual that can contribute to the Sales and Marketing teams, work in a dynamic environment, deliver messaging and product feedback back into the marketing and product organization and work proactively to drive overall sales performance. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of BDRs, conducting regular 1:1s to coach and support 
  • Lead call reviews weekly to provide feedback on why calls went well and how we can iterate as a team, or why calls went poorly and what we can avoid. 
  • Lead trainings on Cart products and customers to upskill the BDR team 
  • Work with Business Development leadership to create incentivized competitions, team events, and culture building practices that energize the team towards their goals. 
  • Align with Sales team on ways BDRs can improve to better serve their needs. 
  • Take special interest in BDRs that are still learning the role, and work with them to create plans to get them on track while giving them the tools they need to get there. 
  • Deep dive into activity reporting to find insights on team performance, use this to find and implement new ways Cart can improve on sequences, targeting, and pitch. 
  • Constantly manage a hiring pipeline to ensure the team is always fully staffed for targets. 

Experience

  • 1-3+ years prior experience in a leadership role 
  • 1-3+ years prior experience in a quota-carrying role and the ability to understand the challenges that the sales team encounter daily 
  • You understand the role BDRs play in the lead generation context 
  • You are an effective coach & people manager, who enables talent to grow and be their best selves at work 
  • Highly data driven, analytical and structured -
  • A continuous improvement mindset, particularly when it comes to rapidly evolving processes and structures 
  • You are committed to ensuring a strong partnership with key functional groups, including Marketing, Partnerships and Product

Bonus Points

  • A solid understanding of eCommerce Products. 
  • Experience working in a startup 
  • Demonstrated ability to effortlessly manage competing priorities. 
  • Bias for execution and delivering results. 
  • Knowledge of selling tools: Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Expertise in sales methodologies such as IMPACT, BANT and MEDDPICC.

Our headquarters is located in Austin, Tx at the address listed. The majority of our roles are flexible hybrid for employees who live within the cities where we have offices and remote for employees who are not located in those cities.
