Your Mission
Shopgate is seeking a Director of Sales to define and execute the sales strategy for the company. Not only will you lead the sales team in acquiring smb and enterprise level customers, but you will also work closely with recruiting and the leadership team to build a high performance sales organization. As a key member of company leadership team, you will be tasked with long term company growth.
The ideal candidate thrives in a start-up environment and has a proven track record of defining a detailed sales strategy, running a metrics driven sales team, and expanding sales to new markets. Experience in the ecommerce industry required. (This position is based in Austin, TX)
Your Day to Day
- Plan sales strategy and tactics for targeting clients in all verticals
- Assume responsibility for the success of sales with respect to but not limited to client acquisition, client satisfaction, and revenue.
- Scale a sales team
- Identify and drive new initiatives to improve performance and efficiency of the department
- Define and continually refine success metrics for the sales department personnel and lead them in meeting department and company goals.
- Hire, coach and develop new sales team members. Be a mentor and leader for the department and department individuals
- Networking and attending key events and tradeshows
- Align sales initiatives with marketing and product releases
- Collaborate with the Product team to accelerate features needed to enhance sales opportunities
- Collaborate with Customer Success team to provide new customers a seamless experience
- Create a working environment that cultivates teamwork, creativity, and success
The Right Fit
- Successful background selling in the ecommerce space
- 4-5 years B2B enterprise software sales experience. SaaS experience highly preferred.
- Experience with the negotiation and closing of Enterprise level deals
- 5+ years managing sales teams
- Track record of arming sales teams with scalable best practices
- Experience with a data driven sales process including forecasting and reporting
