About You

You have integrity. A lot of it. You are tenaciously motivated to solve problems and constantly improve yourself while, more importantly, improving the team and your clients. You listen more than you speak and have the capacity and courage to “empty your cup” to absorb new ways of thinking. You understand that sales, and working on a team, should be a service-driven pursuit.

Here are some things that our team does every day:

  • Interact with C-level media executives to explain the changing digital landscape
  • Serve as expert consultants on transitioning old media companies into new digital revenue models
  • Communicate partner concerns to the support and product team
  • Research technology leaders inside Fortune 1000 companies to plan and execute creative outreach campaigns
  • Manage the performance, status, conversion and execution of our lead pipeline
  • Review and analyze call and email performance and have confidence to pivot on a dime

You should probably apply if these things are within (or close to) your comfort zone:

  • Applying a service-driven approach to client interactions (sales, restaurant, hotel, retail, etc…)
  • Talking on the phone, leaving voicemails, and writing emails that keep people engaged
  • Interrupting someone’s day via phone and email to start a conversation that will benefit their business
  • Asking difficult questions to gain a better understanding of the client’s business problems while building the urgency necessary to solve them
  • Approach interpersonal conflict as a means to a better outcome with both internal and external clients
  • Asking for feedback from anyone and everyone, then doing something constructive with that feedback

You should really seriously apply if you are also comfortable with any of the following:

  • Enterprise software sales
  • Reaching new heights on the nerd-o-meter when it comes to note-taking and organizational prowess
  • Presenting to a group of people face-to-face or via phone (webinar) and keeping them engaged in the conversation
  • Working with local media (newspaper, tv, radio) or small businesses

Salary All positions at OwnLocal are salaried, paid out monthly and include company stock options. This position offers a salary of $45,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience, with up to an additional $20,000 in annual bonus (paid monthly). The best office space in Austin. Our office is very purposefully located near all of the downtown staples. Think Handlebar, The Backspace, and Medici.
