The Lead Development Specialist is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and generating new sales leads to support the Acquisition Sales Team. In this role, you will develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery, and individual research. You will identify, nurture, and deliver high-quality sales opportunities to the Partner Success Team. Playing a key role in the sales process, you will have three objectives: outreach to qualify contacts as opportunities, be responsible for routing leads for North America, and educating prospects about HomeAway solutions.

The key function of this role is to drive lead development from monthly & quarterly target lists for new business activity. This involves compiling lists of key companies & contacts from database resources, software partners, LinkedIn, and other internet research. These objectives end with a handoff of qualified opportunities to an account manager. Occasionally you will use your creativity to achieve goals within cross-departmental projects in alignment with our strategy. 

What you’ll do:

  • As a successful Lead Development Specialist, you will:
    • Own the quarterly and monthly lead development strategies under the direction of Sales Management 
    • Conduct research to identify potential prospects
    • Develop and qualify leads for handoff to account managers via telephone, email, and social media to identify appropriate buyers within the target market 
    • Initiate communication with prospects and conduct follow-up communications in order to qualify opportunities and move them into the sales funnel
    • Uncover customer and prospect interest to develop sales opportunity
    • Own the distribution of leads to sales team on an ongoing basis 
    • Report to management on lead follow-up through SalesForce, ensuring leads are tracked correctly and consistently across the sales team
    • Conduct a high volume of phone calls
    • Work with the partner team to qualify customers of partner companies as potential targets for sales 
    • Route leads to the correct sales resource, and follow up to ensure that leads are moved forward in the funnel
  • Business development metrics include:
    • Track and report daily/weekly/monthly activity goals, as required
    • Lead generation campaign management & tracking Present team activities and lead follow-up statistics at the weekly team meeting

Who you are:

  • Required Skills:
    • A Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years of professional experience 
    • Fluent in Spanish required 
    • Ability to pivot between tasks across multiple software and technology platforms 
    • Experience in lead generation and lead qualification
    • Knowledge of CRM Systems (Salesforce.com a plus) 
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 
    • Deep understanding of internet technologies
    • Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment 
    • Competency in working independently and being self-motivated
    • Customer service or sales experience, preferably in a contact center 
    • Experience working with multiple technology platforms while supporting customers over the phone and email
    • Experience in SaaS, classified ad sales or online advertising sales a strong plus
