As the Mountain Specialist you’ll be responsible for diving into the DNA among the Mountain community. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships for YETI with local and regional influencers, including but not exclusive to ambassadors, guides, outfitters, lodges, patrollers, brand partners, and key retailers. You are highly motivated and live for all things Alpine. You can name all the major mountain ranges of the world and love seeing your buddy’s exploits on Instagram. You are passionate about the mountain lifestyle in all four seasons and live to talk about. You love making connections and understand the network in the climb, ski/snowboard, and raft communities. You may have been a guide yourself at one time or always dreamed of making a living at altitude. You know where the best ski runs and crags are and can name athletes and activations that drive major influence in the community. You welcome the conversations getting to know these people and places better while always keeping your radar up for the up and comers.
A look at your day-to-day
- Introduce and build up YETI Select (elite pro program) in the mountain communities
- Align, service and maintain day to day relationships with key brand partners, ambassadors, resorts, outfitters, lodges, and conservation groups
- Mine for new talent and alignments within the category, understanding any shifts in the influencer circuits
- Internal consultant for the broader marketing team as it pertains to the mountain community
- Ensure YETI maintains relevance and authenticity in the community
- Provide necessary intel for YETI on any major trends within the community
- Active outreach and communication in-person or over phone/email to relevant individuals and groups in the dedicated community
- Handle day-to-day needs of resort and outfitting agreements and brand partner relationships within the community
- Develop a consistent communication strategy with our YETI Select group
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time
Now for a little bit about you….
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required
- 5+ years of experience in interfacing and/or working with the mountain community, which can include in the guide and outfitter community, conservation organization, an outdoor retailer, or a mountain focused brand.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- You must be able to handle and manage multiple relationships with influencers
- The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize travel and time in the field within regular department workflow
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Goal oriented with high standards for excellence
- Ability to manage multiple relationships with the highest level of customer service
- Strong time management skills
