The role:
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you’ll maximize sales opportunities by providing technical expertise and support to Redgate’s partners, customers and sales teams. You’ll demonstrate how our products can solve specific customer problems, and generate referenceable accounts and a positive brand awareness.
While caring deeply about helping our customers succeed and meeting revenue targets, you’ll also work closely with the sales team and marketing on technical onboarding and training as well as hosting webinars to further educate our customers on the best practices of database change management.
As a pro-active team player, you’ll aim to get the best out of those around you, and you’ll be as comfortable presenting in person as you are via conference call and web demo platforms.
In return, we’ll provide all of the background knowledge and training you’ll need, and you’ll attend product sprint reviews and internal feedback sessions to keep your expertise current.
Core responsibilities:
- Team up and collaborate with Account Executives in helping customers understand the business value of solving software delivery challenges using Redgate solutions.
- Prepare and Deliver targeted technical presentations and Proof of concepts for customers.
- Provide training and technical updates for Account Executives and Partners
- Act as the key contact for the personal development and technical training of the Sales Team, and organize regular reviews of their technical expertise
- Collaborate with Redgate advocates and product managers in delivering value to our enterprise customers that have more complex use cases.
- Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products
- Communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and sales.
- Represent Redgate at various Technology, Sales and Partner events, and deliver demos and sessions to educate our customers and the community on industry best practices.
What makes you a great fit for the Pre-Sales Engineer role?
- Bachelor’s degree and experience of working in software or a software-related industry
- Experience working in a Pre-Sales role or at an equivalent technical level
- Hands on experience in software development with an understanding of software delivery methodologies and best practices such as Agile and DevOps
- Experience with at least one relational database management system (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL)
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Powershell
- Proven ability to learn and understand technical information as well as dispensing knowledge to highly skilled and experienced audience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Commercial awareness and a customer-centric approach to selling
- Demonstrable planning and project management skills
