Role: Property Underwriter

About This Role 

We’re seeking an experienced insurance property underwriting professional who is willing to think outside the box with a whole new approach to policy underwriting. This position will be cross-functional and work hand in hand with our Customer Support, Claims, and Sales organizations to maximize profitable growth and expansion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Customer Support & Sales teams
• Perform underwriting tasks including but not limited to: new/renewal business reviews, endorsed policy changes, referral exceptions, and contract interpretation questions
• Provide superb customer support and assistance via phone, chat and email
• You are dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers through sound underwriting decisioning, you act with customers in mind while protecting long term profitability
• Process daily diaries and ad hoc policy level reviews quickly and thoroughly while maintaining proper service levels

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in Property or Homeowner’s underwriting is required
• Technical expertise in risk selection
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and directed; ability to collaborate is a must
• Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to think outside the box
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
