Sales Development Manager

It’s an exciting time at A Cloud Guru - we’ve taught over 600,000 students since our inception 3 years ago; received US venture capital funding with a recent $2M raise in May; and we're now focusing on building out our B2B feature set and product offering.
We have ambitious goals for the year ahead and we're looking for a confident, curious, and customer focused Sales Development Manager to help us achieve these goals.
As our Sales Development Manager you'll be responsible for building, coaching, and scaling a team of high performing Sales Development Representatives. You'll also be responsible for closing transactional opportunities.
This is a high impact role in our team that is perfectly suited for an experienced sales development team lead or manager who has experience working in a high-growth software business, preferably SaaS. You'll need to be strategically and tactically sharp, have a love coaching and being coached, and approach things with genuine curiosity. We move at lightning speed and have loads of growth opportunities for people who thrive working in a fast-paced startup environment!
From the outset you'll need to:
- Serve as SDR’s day to day mentor and coach while also:
- -> Identifying lead sources
- -> Constructing target prospect lists
- -> Shadowing, scoring and tracking all outbound activity
- -> Creating performance plans
- -> Improving sales skills with hands-on participation and applicable training content
- -> Participating in discovery calls
- Manage, track and report on your sales team’s activities, quotas and goals using Salesforce.com
- Use data to refine sales leads process, metrics, and tools.
- Improve SDR sales playbooks
- Ensure your team has value-driven conversations with prospects
- Qualify, Manage and assign all inbound leads
- Close transactional SMB opportunities
- Proactively identify and launch initiatives that drive new business growth
- Help scale and document sales development team practices while proactively driving operational excellence
- Attends trade shows as required
If you have the following experience we'd love to hear from you!
- A few years of experience of sales development team lead/manager experience in a high growth software organisation, preferably in SaaS
- Commercial experience as an individual contributor in sales development
- Experience with cloud productivity tools including CRMs
- Track record of exceeding quota targets as an individual contributor and manager
- Strong leadership experience, start-up experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a social science or business-related field, or equivalent experience
