Context:

ProsperOps is looking for an experienced Sales Development Representative to build our lead generation capability. You will be one of the first hires for ProsperOps and get to work with the foremost experts in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cost optimization from beautiful Austin, TX. You too will become a cost optimization expert and you’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO and Chief Product Officer to engage new prospects and move them through the sales process. Responsibilities:  

  • Research, identify, and prospect for new customers 

  • Engage prospects across all channels (e.g., voice, email, social)

  • Educate customers on the problem we solve and our value proposition

  • Schedule product demos or help prospects self-service online

Requirements:  

  • 1-3 years of proven results in business development and lead generation

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services is strongly desired

  • 100% reliable and detail-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Wired for startupland—non-stop learning and laughs in a dynamic environment

Mission:

The co-founders of ProsperOps started Rackspace’s AWS Managed Services business, one of the largest AWS Managed Service Providers in the world, and during that time they helped hundreds of customers with cost optimization. During that time, they noticed that engineering teams consistently underutilized or mismanaged Reserved Instances (RIs). It was surprising, because RI discounts are one of AWS’ most powerful levers to reduce costs (offering discounts up to 75%) and they pose no engineering risk to the application when they are used. ProsperOps was founded with the mission to simplify and automate the RI lifecycle to give cloud users the savings benefit without the headaches.

And here is how we do it: ProsperOps Autonomous Reserved Instance Management SaaS algorithmically builds and maintains the optimal RI portfolio to maximize our customer’s RI savings, even as their EC2 footprint changes. We let the robots loose to save money for our customers so they can focus on their business!
