Sales Engineer, Competitive Intelligence at Procore Technologies
Procore is looking for a Sales Engineer, Competitive Intelligence, to join our growing team. As an expert on our competitors, you’ll be responsible for all insights and understandings of a competitor set. Working closely with our Product Marketing team, you’ll present Procore against competitors to our partners and our systems integrators.
As a Sales Engineer, Competitive Intelligence, you’ll develop client-facing content and travel to client sites and prospect and partner meetings to add your knowledge and insight, answering deep functional differentiation questions. This role is a balance between building reusable content and supporting deals to close with competitive intel.
This position will report to our Senior Manager, Global Sales Acceleration, and will be based in our downtown Austin, TX office. We’re looking for candidates to join us immediately!
What you’ll do:
Engage throughout the entire lifecycle of the deal from the initial “attract” phase through “close” to help close as much revenue as possible
Proactively seek additional analysis to flesh out findings, maintain relationships with SMEs who can help with insight generation, and integrate patterns into a cohesive story
Consistently capture opportunities to influence business decisions and strategies while encouraging debate around research recommendations
Focus on relationship building and using strong scoping tools to uncover the problem even when not clearly articulated
Present Procore’s point of view in a manner that considers communication preferences and decision-maker needs, tailoring recommendations across audiences
Actively seek new information sources, including events, conferences, and training on emerging methods and techniques, and opportunities to grow business acumen and industry knowledge
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent work experience
5+ years of Competitive Intelligence experience or selling in a competitive technology landscape.
Construction Technology or Construction Field Experience a plus
Strategic and creative thinker who can translate complex concepts into crisp competitive messages
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including developing messaging and positioning
Ability to provide rapid responses and analysis of competitor news
Proven ability to work independently to meet assigned objectives
Prior technical sales/support experience desired but not required
Previous experience organizing knowledge and content desired but not required
