SonarSource has recently established a Sales Engineering team dedicated to helping our prospective customers achieve technical success with our products. This is your chance to join a fresh team as we learn how to scale our efforts to meet unprecedented levels of demand.
As a Sales Engineer at SonarSource, you’ll play a central role in providing deep technical expertise to our prospects and supporting them in adopting and deploying our solutions. The SE team works closely with not only Sales, but also Product Management, Marketing, and Development teams to advocate for the perspective of prospective customers.
On a daily basis, you will
- Help prospective customers understand how to adopt and enforce Clean Code within their software development life cycle
- Drive technical aspects of pre-sales business opportunities by doing technical presentations and demonstrations and supporting evaluation deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems encountered by prospective customers evaluating our products
- Serve as a liaison between prospective customers and Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Development teams to provide feedback on our products’ evolution and messaging
- Enable the Sales team in their evolving understanding of SonarSource products and how they fit into modern development practices
- Provide technical enablement to channel partners to raise their level of service
The skills you will demonstrate
- Proven practical experience in software development or DevOps engineering which sets the stage for understanding our products
- Excellent presentation skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to dive into complex technical problems, perform troubleshooting, and develop solutions
- Proven ability to work in a team, receiving and giving feedback as well as sharing knowledge
- A can-do attitude: challenging the status-quo, leading and contributing to key improvements and innovations
- Strong influencing skills and natural leadership
- Being a team player, receiving and giving feedback as well as sharing knowledge
- Business-level proficiency in both speaking and writing in English
Strong candidates will
- Have a deep understanding of the modern software development life cycle and DevOps Practices
- Think like a developer and have used or can imagine what day-to-day interactions with Sonar products and their results will feel like
- Be able to apply working knowledge of both local and cloud-based software deployment platforms and technologies, including Linux, Windows, AWS, Azure, Docker and Kubernetes
- Have previously enjoyed delivering technical presales support and compelling, unique demonstrations that help prospects understand software solutions

Sales Engineers are part of the overall Sales organization: today a group of over 13 people from 3 continents who take opportunities to learn from each other and grow our collective expertise. Sales Engineers meet, speak with, or write to people all over the world. The variety of customers makes each presales case a unique opportunity to learn about code quality, security, and DevOps technologies.
At SonarSource, our Sales Engineering Team is considered a group of product experts who are spreading SonarSource best practices for Clean Code outside of the company. This balanced relationship with the other teams enables a fruitful internal collaboration.
