Sales Engineering Technician

The HotSchedules Sales Engineer Technician is responsible for supporting the sales engineering team.  This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure the HotSchedules demonstration sites are pristine at all times and present the best customer facing image as possible.  This position ascertains sales engineering requirements for demonstrations, sandboxes and labs for both ad hoc and routine engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the HotSchedules demonstration sites are in excellent condition and replicates a functional integrated customer site
  • Responsible for regular demonstration walk-throughs to ensure smooth application showings
  • Establishes processes to validate demonstration site readiness
  • Creates and runs scripts as necessary to automate demonstration site maintenance
  • Creates customized demonstration sites per Sales Engineering requirements
  • Creates and maintains sandboxes and labs as directed by the VP of Sales Solutions and the Principal Sales Engineer in accordance with customer requirements
  • Identifies current and future customer business needs and requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers
  • Documents demonstration site readiness procedures
  • Documents demonstration site, sandbox and lab settings and configuration
  • Assists in customer “vetting” in preparation for implementation
  • Assists in integration projects with customers and prospects including data validation and general support
  • Reviews all release notes and ensure the demonstration sites have the most up to date configurations and settings
  • Educates sales engineer and sales teams on updates to the demonstration sites
  • Maintains knowledge and depth of the HotSchedules solutions
  • Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends
  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives
  • Creates and contributes to a positive, professional, and fun environment to work at every day

Skills/Qualifications: Problem Solving, Product Knowledge, Software Requirements, Product Development, General Programming Skills, Technical Depth and Understanding, Verbal Communication, Requirements Analysis, Innovation

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years in sales engineering, HotSchedules support team or similar experience such as restaurant operations or IT
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or business related field preferred
  • Restaurant technology experience or experience supporting restaurants
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Takes initiative and looks for opportunity within the organization 
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Energetic, creative, organized, and self-motivated individuals
