Candidate Profile:
This is both a strategic and hands-on tactical role. At Lithium, building out our go-to-market and technology alliances is a critical element of our growth plan and a strategic focus of the executive leadership team. This position provides an excellent opportunity to make a significant, direct impact on the success of Lithium's aggressive growth objectives. This role is also a stepping stone for anyone looking to develop into an experienced, strategic business development executive. You will have all the responsibility you can handle as you develop Lithium's first formal partnership program and lead the execution of key strategic partnerships. You are the right candidate if you are a highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable operating in a fluid, constantly evolving partnership ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the VP of Corporate Development to define the vision and strategy for a formal partnership program at Lithium that spans strategic go-to-market partnerships, technology alliances and Lithium's relationship with the leading global social networks
  • Responsible for negotiating and executing partnership agreements with the vendors we select to pursue across each partnership type – you will work closely with Lithium legal counsel on all agreements
  • Assume responsibility for managing all existing partnerships – own the day-to-day relationships with leadership support and oversight from the VP of Corporate Development
  • Own the creation of go-to-market planning with each partner, including co-marketing promotional activities and events
  • Work with Account Executives to qualify, pursue and close new revenue opportunities that our partners bring to us
  • Work closely with the product development team to coordinate engineering efforts for all technology partnerships that involve an integration to Lithium products or are providing technology embedded in our products
  • Handle partner escalation requests and engage appropriate Lithium leaders to resolve them
  • Maintain reporting/analytics on the effectiveness of our partnerships – make recommendations to terminate or expand partnerships based on performance/impact
  • Screen all inbound partnership requests and make recommendations about whether we should pursue or reject them
  • Recruit partners to sponsor Lithium's annual customer conference, CX Live, and manage the partner exhibition component of the conference

Essential Skills:

  • The ideal candidate has 0-3 years of experience in business development, inside sales or account sales in the software industry, preferably in a SaaS business model
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization – both inside Lithium and at partner companies
  • Strong collaborative skills with a proven track record of driving decisions
  • While not a requirement, it's a benefit if the candidate has strong technical acumen and is well versed in emerging technical trends
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leaders across the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with the ability to make an impact
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • BA/BS Degree from a 4-year college
