Position Overview: 
Kendra Scott seeks to hire a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to help run and maintain our data ecosystem and support the fast-growing business with the implementation of a new CRM. Our ideal candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, an amazing communicator, and great at working with cross-functional teams on multiple projects. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have a very strong SQL background, deep analytical skills, and experience working with end users. Tableau knowledge is required. The ability to do ad-hoc SQL to research data questions, identify root causes, and interact closely with peers and the business data analysts is essential. 

Responsibilities: 
• Build, Manage and Support Data Warehouse, ETL Middleware and Reporting interfaces 
• Support & maintain CRM & Marketing data feeds & data quality 
• Support & maintain new SaaS offerings with data 
• Work with internal team and vendors on troubleshooting issues. 
• Work with Third Party Providers to implement new warehousing strategies 
• Participate in meetings with various stakeholders on a regular basis and understand their vision/roadmap 
• Engage with the business, product and Engineering teams to understand their requirements and convert them to technical specifications whenever necessary 
• Propose and prototype BI reporting solutions that are holistic (span multiple departments or Enterprise wide), simple, creative, scalable and reliable 
• Evaluate new tools and technologies on a regular basis and make recommendations as necessary 
• Mentor the reporting team on the industry standards, best practices and optimal solutions 
• Drive design reviews and code reviews to ensure standards are met 
• Present the solutions to the stakeholders in a broader group setting 
• Manage performance and scalability of current Data Warehouse 
• Design, build and support Data Warehouse schema 

Skills: 
• Atlassian Jira, Confluence 
• GIT revision control experience preferred 
• Expert with star and snowflake data schemas 
• Expert SQL knowledge 
• Expert Google Analytics knowledge 
• Expert with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Pentaho, Google Data Studio, etc…) 
• Expert level knowledge of data integration and familiarity with common data integration challenges like converting data types, handling errors, and translating between different technology stacks 
• Advanced Data ETL using Pentaho Data Integration 
• Proficient in use of REST & SOAP web services 
• Working knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS 
• Working knowledge of Linux/RedHat 
• Ability to read and understand JSON & XML 

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have: 
• BS in Information Systems or equivalent with a minimum of 5+ years of experience building reporting solutions from the ground up using various tools. 
• 10+ years of experience using SQL 
• 3+ years of experience designing and building databases 
• Big data experience is highly desired (Hadoop, Cassandra, other solutions) 
• Understanding of Omni channel Commerce ecosystem 
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to interpret and translate Business problems into sustainable solution recommendations. 
• Previous Business Analyst experience preferred. 
• Highly self-motivated and directed, pro-actively reporting on status and tasks. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. 
• Adaptable. The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled 
• Experience with fast moving and growing organizations, and/or that you have experience working in retail organizations understanding the priorities and nature of the services provided.
