Position Overview:
Kendra Scott seeks to hire a Enterprise Data Warehouse Manager to help run and maintain our data ecosystem and support the fast-growing business with the implementation of a new CRM. Our ideal candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, an amazing communicator, and great at working with cross-functional teams on multiple projects.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a very strong SQL background, deep analytical skills, and experience working with end users. Tableau knowledge is required. The ability to do ad-hoc SQL to research data questions, identify root causes, and interact closely with peers and the business data analysts is essential.
Responsibilities:
" Translate business requirements into a prototype and minimum viable product (MVP) through working with business, product and IT teams
" Ability to assist in deployment, administration, tuning, monitoring, performance and scalability of database technologies including security, backup, recovery, and archival concepts and procedures
" Design, build and support data warehouse schema; contribute to the design of tactical and strategic data models when necessary
" Create 360-degree views of customer/customer profile by analyzing and combining data across channels
" Design and develop complex analytical reports, including trend and dashboard reports
" Build, manage and support Data Warehouse, ETL middleware and reporting interfaces
from multiple internal and external systems; support and maintain data feeds and data quality
" Work with internal team and vendors on data analysis and troubleshooting issues
" Work with third party providers to implement new warehousing strategies
" Participate in meetings with multiple business and IT stakeholders on a regular basis and understand their vision/roadmap as it pertains to delivering business value
" Propose and prototype BI reporting solutions that are holistic (span multiple departments or Enterprise wide), simple, creative, scalable and reliable
" Mentor the reporting team on the industry standards, best practices and optimal solutions
" Drive design reviews and code reviews to ensure standards are met
" Present the solutions to the stakeholders in a broader group setting
Skills:
" Experience with relational and nonrelational databases
" Experience interacting with canned and custom APIs and external systems
" Expert with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Pentaho, Google Data Studio, etc.…)
" Expert level knowledge of data integration and familiarity with common data integration challenges like converting data types, handling errors, and translating between different technology stacks
" Expert with star and snowflake data schemas
" Expert SQL and Google Analytics knowledge
" Advanced Data ETL using Pentaho Data Integration
" Proficient in use of REST & SOAP web services
" Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Linux/RedHat; familiarity with JSON & XML
" GIT revision control experience preferred
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
" BA/BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent
" 10+ years of experience using SQL
" 5+ years of technical experience designing and building databases
" Full-stack conversant; full-stack development knowledge or experience a plus
" Big data experience is highly desired (Hadoop, Cassandra, other solutions)
" Experience in a fast-paced Retail omnichannel environment
" Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
" Excellent communication and presentation skills
" Highly self-motivated and directed, proactively reporting on status and tasks. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
" Adaptable. The role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled
" Experience with fast-moving and growing organizations, and/or experience working in retail organizations understanding the priorities and nature of the services provided
