DesignMind is seeking a Senior Data Science Consultant to join one of the country’s top data and analytics consulting teams. Applicants must reside within the United States.  DesignMind is a Microsoft Solutions Partner in Data & AI, and has partnerships with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Profisee, PowerON, and other leading technology providers.


As a Senior Data Science Consultant, you will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in client engagements across many different industries, throughout the entire consulting and development life cycles.  Client engagements can range from a multi-week Data Science Assessment and POC to an enterprise project spanning several months. Our team often delivers work in partnership with client employees, consultants, and senior stakeholders. 
Most of your work will be done remotely, but there will be times when travel to client sites will be essential.  Also, due to the nature of our work background checks will be required.
For the Senior Data Science Consultant candidate, work will include:

  • Building Machine Learning algorithms and systems
  • Building experimentation and analysis frameworks
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and help create roadmaps
  • Mentor and be a thought leader on how to use data to understand and improve outcomes
  • Document and present results to internal and external stakeholders and partners
  • Data modeling
  • Providing ad-hoc analysis to internal stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience

Technical knowledge will be evaluated based on each candidate’s work experience.  Having the following capabilities is essential to your success in this role:

  • 5+ years of experience in building machine learning and data science algorithms
  • Strong SQL, R, and Python skills
  • Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling
  • Gathering and documenting requirements based on discussions with business stakeholders and technical team members
  • Experience with Databricks or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable communicating with VP and C-level stakeholders

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience developing and applying advanced UQ, V&V, and/or ML methods to real-world problems
  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Experience with various forms of data modeling, including relational, star and snowflake schemas
 Nice to Have Skills & Experience
  • Experience in Technical Discovery, Project Scoping, Labor Estimation, Drafting SOWs
  • Master Data Management (Profisee, MDS)
  • Data Quality Management
  • Data Governance
