About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to take significant ownership in building Monte Carlo's cloud application. The role will involve end-to-end development, from helping formulate customer requirements and designs to full production implementation. You will be collaborating with a small team of seasoned engineers, and your work will greatly impact our product and customers.

Location:

Anywhere in the Americas

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Own substantial projects from inception to deployment, take on more responsibility with fewer rules and act like an owner

  • Working with the product team and other stakeholders to identify and iteratively deliver values to customers

  • Lay a great web foundation for other engineers to build on, helping engineers to move fast (e.g., through reusable components) and move with high quality (e.g., applying design patterns and principles, increasing test coverage)

  • Optimize UI and application code for performance, quality, and maintainability.

  • Navigate with some ambiguity while solving problems creatively from the ground up and tenaciously pursuing solutions to difficult challenges.

We’re excited about you because:

  • You have 7+ years of experience delivering production-grade frontend code, performing code reviews, and working on full-stack design and architecture of applications

  • 3+ years of recent React experience

  • You have strong Javascript skills and experience developing with React framework on a large, complex codebase

  • You have experience with testing frameworks such as react-testing-library, playwright or cypress required

  • You have experience tech-leading critical projects or initiatives within your team and organization

  • You are ready to thrive and communicate with your team and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment

  • You're product-minded and user-driven

  • You're pragmatic and biased towards action; you're able to see the bigger picture and reason about prioritization and scope

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading a team of 3 or more through a multi-phase project of significant scope (lasting one or more quarters).

  • Demonstrated leadership in driving technology adoption or establishing development best practices within an organization (frontend or otherwise).

  • Strong collaboration skills with designers, including experience building and maintaining components for a design system, and advocating for its consistent use.

  • Practical experience with advanced applications of AI tooling beyond simple prompt-based usage.

Additional Information:

This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity package. The salary is only for US-based employees and will be aligned with the range below.

$180,000 - 230,000/year

Various factors, including a candidate’s professional background and experience, are considered when determining compensation. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above.
