In this role, you will serve as a key thought partner to senior leadership, sitting at the intersection of operations, analytics, finance, and product management. You will drive the development and execution of high-impact initiatives, manage a team of analysts and associates, and shape how the business makes decisions at scale.

This role requires a seasoned leader with a strong strategic instinct, executive presence, and a track record of delivering results in complex, fast-moving environments. This role is a hybrid in-office/remote role, with approximately two to three days per week in our New York City, Austin, Palo Alto, or San Francisco Office.

Responsibilities
  • Own and drive cross-functional strategic initiatives end-to-end, from problem framing through execution and measurement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to product and go-to-market leadership, shaping strategy, business planning, and resource allocation decisions
  • Lead a team of Business Operations analysts and associates, providing mentorship, direction, and professional development
  • Define and oversee the analytical frameworks and operational processes that enable the business to scale effectively
  • Partner with executive management to develop board-level narratives and strategic recommendations grounded in rigorous analysis
  • Lead market sizing analyses and unit economic modeling for new products, segments, and geographies to inform investment prioritization and establish benchmarks for scalable, sustainable margins
  • Partner with engineering on compute demand forecasting, purchasing optimization, and cloud provider negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms and ensure capacity at best available cost
  • Own the COGS forecast and gross margin model, providing accurate and forward-looking visibility into the unit economics of delivering the product at scale
  • Quantify returns on cross-functional investments, evaluate build-vs.-buy decisions, support M&A diligence and integration modeling, and other ad hoc analyses
Requirements
  • BA/BS required; MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in business strategy and operations, including 3+ years in a management consulting firm and comparable senior role at a technology company; SaaS experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic decisions through data and structured thinking
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for C-suite audiences
  • Proficiency in SQL; experience with Python, R, or BI tools is a plus
  • Exceptional business judgment and comfort operating with ambiguity and incomplete information
  • Experience managing multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Success Measures
  • Within 1 month, develop a comprehensive understanding of MongoDB's products, competitive landscape, and the analytical infrastructure used by the team; establish relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders
  • Within 2 months, assume ownership of at least one ongoing strategic initiative and begin identifying opportunities to elevate the team's impact and operating model
  • Within 3 months, launch a significant strategic initiative and establish a roadmap of future priorities in partnership with Business Operations leadership and the broader organization; demonstrate early impact on team development and cross-functional influence
