Role Overview

The Senior Managing Director – Financial Due Diligence is a senior executive role within Ankura’s TAS practice. This leader will be responsible for originating, leading, and delivering complex financial due diligence engagements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong personal brand in the M&A advisory space, a proven track record of generating $2–$4 million+ in annual revenue, and deep relationships across private equity firms, investment banks, and corporate development teams. This individual will be a hands-on leader, passionate about client service, and skilled in building and mentoring high-performing teams. They will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the TAS practice and expanding Ankura’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities

· Originate and lead financial due diligence engagements, generating $2–$4 million+ in annual revenue.

· Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations throughout the transaction lifecycle.

· Lead buy-side and sell-side due diligence efforts, including quality of earnings, working capital analysis, and financial modeling.

· Develop and maintain strong relationships with private equity firms, investment banks, and corporate clients.

· Collaborate with other Senior Managing Directors to cross-sell services and expand client relationships.

· Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

· Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to junior team members.

· Contribute to the development of thought leadership and market-facing content to enhance Ankura’s brand in the transaction advisory space.

Requirements

· Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in financial due diligence, M&A advisory, or transaction services.

· Minimum 10+ years of experience in a professional services or consulting environment.

· Proven track record of generating $2–$4 million+ in annual revenue and personally billing at a senior level.

· Deep relationships with key stakeholders in the M&A ecosystem, including private equity firms, investment banks, and corporate development teams.

· Undergraduate degree from a top academic institution; advanced degrees and professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CIRA) preferred.

· Expertise in financial analysis, deal structuring, and transaction execution.

· Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and develop talent.

· Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders.

· High energy, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

· Experience with complex financial modeling, including integrated 3-statement models and working capital analysis.

· Ability to synthesize complex information and deliver clear, concise recommendations to clients.

· Ability to travel as needed for business development, deal execution and firm-related matters
