Behind this customer experience, WP Engine has built and integrated a platform of internal products and key business systems that power WP Engine’s Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams. As a Product Manager in Business Systems, you will be challenged to drive continuous innovation and deliver new solutions addressing the evolving needs of these critical business functions within WP Engine.

In this role, you will drive customer research and uncover ideas through discovery with an understanding of the underlying technologies involved. You will organize those ideas into a prioritized roadmap and validate technology solutions that drive results for the business and our customers. You must be meticulous and relentless in pursuit of a customer-inspired and successful product. You must be comfortable in managing both the day-to-day details and the overall strategy of your products. You must have natural leadership skills and an interest in working with engineers throughout the organization to build passion for our products and our business.

THE DAY TO DAY

• Communicate both the vision and the status of product releases with key stakeholders.
• Prioritize effectively across a number of different stakeholder groups, ensuring alignment around roadmap and delivery expectations.
• Test and learn via user research and discovery activities to turn ideas into defined solutions for clear business problems and customer needs.
• Act as the Scrum Product Owner for your engineering team and lead execution along the Agile software development process.
• Deliver high quality decisions and outcomes across the analysis, discovery, development, release and launch activities within your product portfolio.
• Drive urgency at sustainable levels with your teams and stakeholders.
• Groom and prioritize your product backlog effectively, leading negotiation and trade-off discussions with key stakeholders.
• Write concise and complete user stories and/or jobs to be done with clear acceptance criteria to enable designers and engineers to clearly understand what defines success.
• Define and regularly report on success criteria (KPIs).

YOUR EXPERTISE AND PASSION

• Experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of driving business results for products you have managed.
• Mastery of driving opportunities through the product lifecycle, from building business cases, to identifying and managing requirements, to execution and optimization.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with Agile development teams.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization.
• Driven by a personal passion for understanding business processes and building simplicity and efficiency into business tools.
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
• Ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels.
• Ability to act as a Scrum/Agile mentor and coach is a plus.
