Cloudera is seeking an experienced Senior Release Engineer for the Release Engineering team to help developers and quality engineers build high-quality products while shortening the product development lifecycle.

The team focuses on accelerating development by building the next generation of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, enabling product and quality teams to deliver exceptional data engineering experiences.

You will apply your expertise in building and maintaining tools and robust infrastructure, gaining exposure to complex distributed data engineering systems.

As a Senior Release Engineer you will:

  • Work closely with Product Development, Quality Engineering, Infrastructure and Platform Security team in building well established and scalable Quality Engineering, Cloudera Product Build Environments and state of the art CI CD pipeline.

  • Work with the Cloudera Product Development team to improve the Software Development Lifecycle with a robust code review process, gatekeeping process/tools and integrate the product development lifecycle with existing tools / cloud technologies.

  • Study release bottlenecks and enhance Cloudera product delivery pipeline.

  • Innovate and keep looking for opportunities to enhance existing tools and processes, find best possible solutions and improvements.

  • Mentor and help team members with the latest cloud technologies and bring required changes.

  • Create and improve tools on continuous integration, automated testing and release management using Python.

  • Work collaboratively with the Product Development and Quality Engineering teams to understand their needs and challenges, providing innovative solutions to enhance productivity.

  • Continuously evaluate and integrate the latest technologies and methodologies to ensure our development infrastructure remains at the forefront of industry standards.

  • Build strong infrastructure using Kubernetes, BareMetal, AWS, GKE and Azure.

  • Design, develop and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines and automation tools to streamline development and deployment processes.

We are excited if you have (Required Experience):

  • MS/BA degree in computer science or a related field, or foreign equivalent, and 3 years of experience in the related field.

  • Experience with automating CI/CD processes.

  • Experience programming in one or more general purpose programming languages, preferably Python, Java, Go, Shell, JavaScript, Typescript, React Native.

  • Experience with Kubernetes and AWS,/ GCP, or Azure environments and strong system fundamentals.

  • Experience with infrastructure languages like Terraform, Ansible, Helm etc.

  • Experience with Java based build tools like Maven, Gradle, Ant etc.

  • Good knowledge on Kubernetes and Containers.
