The Opportunity: 

In this role, the ideal candidate will have the unique opportunity to work on services handling processing payments, Cart & Order Management system and supporting developing applications/platform that would enable HomeAway customers to process the payments. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a critical role in the ongoing development of this system working on initiatives such as performance, scalability, and new feature development as well as:

• Take product from design to production.
• Develop & Test new features and enhancements.
• Identify and implement recommendations for scalability and performance.
• Perform QA to ensure solid, bug-free releases.
• Maintain existing codebase.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience with RDBMS database systems
• 5+ years of professional experience with large-scale enterprise grade systems
• 5+ years of professional experience with deploying and configuring applications into various runtimes such as Staging and Production
• An analytical problem solver that is passionate about delivering a high quality user experience
• Strong debugging skills
• Experience with API driven systems including SOAP and REST endpoints
• Experience in leading large programs
• Experience in dealing with multiple Payment Gateways
• Comprehension of complex system interactions involving systems both internal and external
• Experience with source control including branching, merging and resolving conflicts
• Excellent communication skills with ability to work well cross-functionally across multiple department

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using git
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Test driven development
