The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for coding, testing and implementing products. Responsibilities include reviewing functional and technical requirements, performing research, designing solutions, and developing code in a variety of programming languages for a web-based enterprise application. 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, is of high quality and is easy to maintain. 
• Work with various teams in the organization to ensure appropriate project requirements are met
• Perform unit, automation, and peer testing to ensure that the product is fully tested 
• Ensure that all work is properly documented 
• Ability to carry out all policies and procedures as established by the team, department or company at large 
• Provide training, give project demos, and other presentations as needed 
• Voluntary mentoring of others 
• Writing and/or contributing to design documents 
• Perform code reviews 
• Leadership role in projects and design efforts 
• Provide input and proposals/recommendations for code refactoring, process improvements, technologies, and tools 

Requirements & Skills:

• 6+ years job experience in a software development/software engineer role 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, graduation from four year Technical School or equivalent professional experience 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Self-reliant and motivated self-starter 
• Ability to reason logically and provide innovative solutions 
• Demonstrated proficiency in the following: 
• Java and JavaScript 
• Web Services 
• RDBMS DDL & SQL 
• Hibernate or other ORM 
• Spring Framework 
• CSS 
• JQuery 
• Code Generation 
• Authentication and Security protocols 
• JUnit or another testing framework 
• Tomcat and other Application Servers 
• Subversion/CVS 
• Continuous Integration 
• Predictable and quality delivery 

Desired Skills:

• Successful completion of projects where programming languages, ideally Java, are put to use to solve problems 
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (scrum) 
• Experience using the Eclipse IDE or other similar developer environments 
• TeamConnect or other ELM product knowledge
