The Job At-A-Glance:
Q2 is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to join our team of innovators. Our team designs online banking software consisting of high quality technology solutions that enable financial institutions and their customers to sec urely communicate and transact anytime and anywhere via online banking, mobile banking, and voice banking. A Typical Day:

  • Create comprehensive test plans alongside development that provide outstanding code coverage and that can be traced to user stories/epics
  • Create test cases for features/functions; with detailed steps to perform and expected results along with an automated script that can be run to determine pass/fail results
  • Execute test cases and provide results and create resulting defects with diagnostic information for proper triage
  • Implement test automation where applicable
  • Proficient in creating automated test scripts in JavaScript or Python; equivalent scripting language considered like Ember.js and/or Mocha
  • Proficient in Load Testing and/or Performance Testing strategies
  • Proficient in visual automation testing, including advanced CSS testing experience
  • Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
  • Participate in and contribute test effort estimates in Sprint/Release planning sessions
  • Be passionate about driving product quality throughout the product line


Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here's What We're Looking For:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
  • 6+ years' experience and knowledge of:
    • Test Plans and Testing Methodology
    • Test Case Management Skills (Create, Execute, Report, Revise, Repeat)
    • Test Automation Lifecycle Experience
    • Debugging complex web applications issues through code review and detailed logs
    • RESTful API integration for driving test cases
    • Scripting, specifically using JavaScript, Python, or similar
  • Excellent communication and teaming skills especially with highly technical team members
  • Strong test plan organization and test execution planning skills in a CI and Agile environment
  • Experience working in small, highly efficient teams with a high degree of collaboration prowess
  • Passionate about the work, proactive work ethic, and highly motivated attitude to provide excellence in software quality
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and/or Subversion
  • Experience with defect tracking systems; JIRA considered a plus
  • Ability to write Automated test scripts (knowledge of JavaScript scoping and closures, namespacing, debugging, alerts and confirms)
  • Proven experience in the use of web services and RESTful APIs when performing testing; expertise considered a plus
  • Strong experience in testing web based software solutions (both front end and back end services)
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications
  • Experience with SAAS highly desired
