Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices.  The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.  
• Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas:

o   Software Design

o   Software Implementation

o   Technical Documentation

o   Team Collaboration

o   Customer Interaction

o   Software Integration and Testing

o   Task Planning and Schedule Estimating

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• 5+ years of experience in software development using C/C++.
• Strong understanding of real-time application programming.
• Expertise in cross-platform development (Windows & Linux).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
• Ability to work with export-controlled technology

DESIRED COMPENTENCIES:

• Technical Expertise:

o   Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.

o   Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing.

o   Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming.

o   Background in real-time, multi-processing systems.

o   Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g., KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery).

• Development Tools & Practices:

o   Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira).

o   Proficiency with configuration management tools (Perforce, Git).

o   Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.

• Industry Experience:

o   Prior experience in the training and simulation industry.

o   Willingness to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
