Description
Aid in the utilization of the simulation toolchain within NASCAR race teams. Provide valuable engineering support that results in on track performance improvement. Work with race team members and fellow GM support engineers to perform simulation analysis studies, assist in simulation tool use and education, facilitate team feedback to GM simulation develop entities, aid in development and refinement of vehicle modeling inputs, and help develop baseline simulation settings for on track events. Complete all projects to the highest standards. Play a key role as a performance support engineer embedded within a NASCAR racing team. Conduct batch, DOE, correlation and other performance related studies using the simulation toolchain. Assist teams in fitment of collected data for the purpose of input to simulation modeling. Be part of the broader simulation support team seeking to continuously improve and investigate methods to utilize the simulation toolchain and increase race team performance. Provide race teams expert knowledge in the simulation toolchain functionality and modeling practices. Represent racing team needs as a stakeholder in the simulation toolchain development process. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 20%
Additional Description
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related degree. Two years of experience in job offered or related motorsports position. Must also have experience with 2 years of experience using simulation or other vehicle dynamics based modeling software within a Motorsport organization; experience with modern software development tooling and environments; and experience with high performance vehicle, tire, and aero modeling techniques.
