HCSS, a 16-time "Best Company to Work For in Texas" software company in Sugar Land is searching for Software Development Interns to join our Development Team! This is a PAID internship where you will gain in-depth skills in our tech stack that will take you further to success. You will make an impact by contributing to our product teams to deliver high-quality software applications to our customers.
Here's what we're looking for in one of our openings:

  • You're currently enrolled in an accredited college/university and able to commute to our office during your internship.
  • You're cooperative and like to lend a helping hand to others. We have a collaborative culture here at HCSS where teamwork makes the dream work!
  • You're detail-oriented, a problem solver, and a logical thinker.


What will you be doing?

  • Working within a full development team to deliver features, improvements, and fixes to our customers within our Estimating product line.
  • Completing full stack development for a web product that features React on the front end and SQL and Cosmos databases on the back end.
  • Following our normal software processes and Scrum practices while working with the development team and our product team to understand, refine, code, review, and deploy individual issues.
  • Gaining an understanding and contributing to improvements of team practices.


Nice to Have:

  • Currently in a University Program, preferably Computer Science
  • Experience with Postman
  • Experience with client servers and/or web applications
  • Experience with JavaScript, .NET, SQL, C#, TypeScript, and/or React


Here's what to expect:

  • This internship is semester-based and we'll work around your school schedule. For the Summer Break, you can work up to 40 hours a week. During the Fall/Spring semesters, you can work up to 25 hours a week.
  • Training and mentoring will be provided and you'll receive feedback on your performance regularly. You'll have numerous opportunities to continuously grow your knowledge base.
