Lightedge is looking for a Solutions Architect who can translate business goals into clear, scalable, technically sound solutions. If you enjoy working directly with customers, shaping complex architectures, and partnering with Sales, Product, and Engineering to deliver outcomes that actually matter, you’ll fit right in.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of multi-service infrastructure and cloud solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the pre-sales cycle to align technical value with business needs.
  • Run customer discovery sessions, present architectures, and guide technical validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal delivery and product teams to ensure solutions are feasible, supportable, and aligned with roadmap direction.
  • Develop clear documentation, diagrams, and reusable reference materials.
  • Mentor teammates and help raise the bar on architectural quality and communication.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years in solutions engineering or architecture, preferably in infrastructure or cloud environments.
  • Technical proficiency in areas like IBM Power Systems (Power VM)VMware virtualization, or major cloud ecosystems such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with enterprise technologies including storage platforms, networking architectures, hybrid cloud environments, and security frameworks.
  • Bonus points for experience with Dell/EMC, Fortinet, Pure, backup/recovery platforms, or managed hosting environments.
  • Experience supporting sales cycles and engaging directly with customer stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for mixed audiences.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to stay ahead of emerging technologies instead of reacting after the fact.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

With over 20 years in business, LightEdge offers a full stack of best-in-class IT services delivering flexibility, security, and control. Our solutions include premier colocation across seven purpose-built data centers spanning Des Moines, IA, Kansas City, MO, Omaha, NE, Austin, TX, and Raleigh, NC, industry-leading private Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and cloud platforms, and the top global security and compliance measures.
