The Sr. Director of Security at WP Engine will have the opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled security engineers, security analysts and GRC professionals, drive security initiatives to protect our company and our customers, enhance our platform and grow our company's service offerings. The role is highly cross functional, with active working relationships and partnerships across all departments within the company.
The Sr. Director of Security will guide and participate in efforts to create advanced security engineering solutions, assess and mitigate risk, and the implementation of compliance initiatives. The security team's work is focused on innovative data-driven security solutions. You will be empowered to give back to the security community through research and publications.

Security is a fundamental component of the value proposition of our core product, and a key reason why customers trust us with their brand. Our container-based infrastructure consists of thousands of servers running on multiple public cloud providers that host over 500,000 customer web sites, serving 4 billion requests every day, reaching 5% of the world's population.
The Sr. Director of Security will lead a team of highly skilled security engineers, security analysts and GRC professionals to secure our company and our customers, enhance our platform and grow our company's service offerings.

THE DAY TO DAY
Responsibilities:
Lead the evolution of our company strategy on corporate security in collaboration with the senior executive team
Ensure that security remains a first-class citizen in the WP Engine software development lifecycle
Continuously improve the security posture of WP Engine's global infrastructure that supports 10's of millions of end users
Take a risk-based approach to security by prioritizing security solutions based on level of exposure and risk
Manage and grow a world-class security team
Lead governance and risk management function in collaboration with senior executive team and security council
Lead security incident management triage in concert with internal and external stakeholders.
Manage third party security relationships
Serve as an internal and external evangelist for security by representing WP Engine at security conferences and in media via thought leadership
YOU EXPERTISE AND PASSION
Required Skills:
7+ years of experience leading a technical security organization
Experience in a Director-level role or higher at a company that experienced sustained hyper-growth
Experience securing complex, large-scale public cloud deployments that included international data centers
Proven experience building and managing a world-class, global team of security professionals
