You’ll guide a small team in support of these duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop training materials to guide cross-departmental content generation.

  • Align user facing materials with our marketing, design, and product teams.
  • Own the content generation and technical writing budget.
  • Develop a style guide for in-house and external documentation.
  • Align with our IT team on tools required to maintain internal content and user facing technical documentation.
  • Influence content generation across the organization.
  • Develop a team to develop internal and user facing documentation.
  • Follow established procedures for documentation approval, recording, and releasing.

Requirements:

  • Resilience in a fast moving start-up environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You make decisions in uncertainty, prioritizing velocity over perfection.
  • Ability to discern internal engineering information from content best suited for user-facing documentation.
  • Experience managing a content reuse system enabling version control.
  • Experience working with illustrators and technical writers including in-house staff and contract writers.
  • Experience with reStructuredText or Markdown.

  • A history of supporting multiple documentation projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to share a portfolio highlighting your style of technical writing.
  • Previous experience in both hardware and software products.
  • Experience with products utilizing both on-premesis and cloud architectures.
