Risk Mitigation: Identify and quantify historical tax exposures and draft contract language (reps and warranties) to mitigate risk for clients.

Post-Transaction Integration: Oversee post-close integration, ensuring tax attribute preservation (Section 382 analysis) and earnings and profits (E&P) studies.

2. Practice Growth & Business Development

Market Facing: Actively cultivate relationships with Private Equity firms, legal counsel, investment bankers, and C-level executives to source new engagements.

Cross-Selling: Collaborate with Audit and Valuation partners to present a unified, multi-disciplinary service offering to prospective clients.

Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at industry conferences, publish articles on emerging M&A tax trends, and lead internal and external webinars.

3. Team Leadership & Operations

Talent Development: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Managers and Directors, fostering a culture of technical excellence and rapid career progression.

Operational Management: Manage the financial performance of the M&A practice, including billing, realization rates, and resource allocation.

Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of risk management and compliance with firm policies and professional standards.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.

Master’s in Taxation (MST) or LLM in Taxation is highly preferred.

Active CPA license or JD required.

Experience:

15+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm or a specialized M&A boutique.

Minimum of 10 years specifically dedicated to M&A tax / Transaction Advisory Services.
