What you’ll be doing:

  • Contributing as an active Architect in our Architecture Organization as we evolve our platform in new interesting and impactful directions (Microservices, Multi-tenantization, Continuous Deployment)

    • Helping generate and unify architectural implementations and strategies

    • Pair programming with developers on the teams

    • Developing POCs (Proofs of Concept) to verify the feasibility of technical directions we intend on pursuing

  • Being a leader in making the business case for technical strategies and projects that need to be pursued

  • Acting as a Technical Program Manager to coordinate technical efforts, vision, strategy,  and projects alongside our Product Roadmap

  • Serving as the direct Manager, coach, and mentor  of the Architects in the Organization

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Has extensive experience in Software Development as an individual contributor

  • Has extensive experience as a hands-on (coding) Architect, including evolving the architecture of a platform/ecosystem over time

  • Has managed developers and/or architects

  • Has a background interfacing with stakeholders and clients, and putting technical concerns into business terms

  • Has served as a hiring manager

  • Understands SMART goal setting and career development of their direct reports

  • Knows what extrinsically and intrinsically motivates each of their direct reports

  • Is comfortable having difficult discussions and making difficult decisions

 

Skills you have include:

  • High fluency with design patterns at both the micro and macro (enterprise) level

  • .NET Experience a plus

  • Extensive experience as a hands-on (coding) Architect

  • Fluency in one or more object oriented languages

  • Creating and enhancing product features in MVC 4 and WebAPI 2 with C#, as well as some ASP.Net Webforms using VB.Net

  • Experience working with a relational database platform like SQL Server or Oracle, both using stored procedures and an ORM like Entity Framework or NHibernate

  • Building web applications using an MVC framework

  • Writing automated tests using NUnit, JUnit or an equivalent

  • Using distributed version control, preferably Git or Mercurial

  • Breaking down user stories into actionable tasks

  • The ability to communicate cross-functionally among other department

 

Ideally, you also:

  • Have worked with at least one NoSQL platform

  • Have implemented responsive design techniques for mobile-friendly applications

  • Have client-side experience in one or more JavaScript frameworks

  • Have worked with a CSS framework like Bootstrap or Foundation

  • Know how to write code that’s safe to integrate in a Continuous Deployment environment
