We are looking for a well-rounded developer with deep experience in providing data integration services (acquisition, cleansing, merging, validation, visualization and data mining analysis). 

In this position, you will work with our engineering team and data scientists to help patients get access to cutting edge treatments they otherwise wouldn't have known about.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of data integrations with EHR and third-party vendors
  • Ensure maintainable, scalable, reliable, testable, and secure code
  • Improve code quality through peer reviews and proactive adoption of new processes and tools
  • Stay up to date on information technology industry and market trends, determine potential impacts, drive innovation, and ensure flexibility, sustainability, and relevance of the solutions we build.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers across the organization

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years commercial software development experience
  • Experience designing solutions for use in cloud environments
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful web services
  • Experience in data analysis, data transformation, integration, reporting and extraction
  • Experience working in a lean/agile development environment
  • Solid understanding of data structures and distributed systems
  • Ability to reason about performance tradeoffs
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple data streams
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational datastores
  • Experience with Java 8 (such as Lambda expressions, streams, and functional interfaces)
  • Flat-file processing (xml, CSV, JSON, etc)
  • NoSQL solutions (such as MongoDB)
  • Bash scripting
  • Object-oriented design and development

Not necessary but a bonus

  • Spring Boot
  • Kotlin, Groovy, or Scala
  • Functional programming
  • HL7 C-CDA, FHIR, and EHR vendor APIs
  • Messaging solutions (such as RabbitMQ, JMS)
  • Spring Integration framework
  • Gradle
  • Elastic search (SOLR or Lucene)
  • Big data frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, and Beam
  • Deploying solutions to AWS, Heroku, Aptible or a similar platform
