Upswing is searching for a data analyst passionate about using data to merge education and technology to start with us in the fall.

You are someone who: 
- Lives and breathes data strategy and analysis 
- Has a proficient understanding of SQL and Excel (prior experience in a job, internship or side projects are helpful!) 
- Is comfortable with seeing and planning the “big picture” and meticulously digging through data 
- Has the foresight to shape the future of data at an edtech startup 
- Is naturally curious and has an investigative mindset 
- Can communicate complex data ideas and analytical insights to the team and clients 
- Is passionate about bringing technology to education and helping to increase retention

On a daily basis you will: 
- Work with the Ops team to make data-driven decisions about our online tutoring platform and other secondary education retention solutions 
- Draft the data strategy and project proposals for Upswing 
- Perform data mining and manipulation requests from our clients and other team members 
- Complete research projects on the academic and student success impact we have on schools 
- Help the Tech and Ops team automate different operational tasks using SQL 
- Track valuable metrics to draw insights about our customer base, sales pipeline, and product usage

Bonus points if you also have a/an: 
- Basic understanding of Python or R or other statistical languages 
- Experience with data visualization and modeling 
- Deeper understanding of database design and data science 
- Experience with other programming languages including Javascript, C sharp, HTML, CSS
