The Data Migration Specialist provides amazing service that makes our customers love us. The best candidates have phenomenal attention to detail while also being great communicators. The role is to ensure a successful migration for new customers as they transition from previous practice management software to AffiniPay's solution, Docketwise. This is the most important phase of the customer lifecycle, and the Data Migration Specialist is responsible for establishing the solid foundation that drives customers’ future successes. Data Migration Specialists are responsible for conducting the full life cycle of the data migration service including acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources, filtering and “cleaning” the data, understanding the customer’s requirements, analyzing and developing the migration plans, monitoring and troubleshooting, and the follow up required until the warranty period is complete.

What You’ll Do:
- Perform data profiling, data validations, data cleansing & data enrichment
- Coordinate, build, monitor, and maintain migration processes for various clients' needs
- Designing an appropriate data migration solution, creating data migration strategy and technical specification documents
- Building, testing, executing, and handling data migration solutions utilizing tools such AWS, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, batch scripts and PostgreSQL.
- Resolve data migration issues, and provide technical support for the data migration process to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently
- Following testing procedures to ensure that the migrated data is accurate and consistent with client specifications
- Creating documentation of the project process to serve as a guide for future migration projects
- Identify opportunities for enhancement, automation, and optimization
- Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Constant communication with customers starting with gathering business requirements for data migration needs and until the final data transfer monitoring period is completed.
About You:
- BA/BS/BE degree required
- Working experience (2-3 years) on data migrations
- 1+ years of customer service experience preferred
- Understanding and experience (3-4 years) of manipulating data with variety SQL tools (CSVs, Excel, SQL SERVER, MySQL and PostgreSQL)
- A strong understanding (proficiency) for Object Oriented Languages
- Working knowledge with Git and GitHub
- Demonstrated understanding of Data Migrations lifecycle (Dev, QA and Prod)
- Ability to work under pressure with pre-agreed timelines
- Passion for documentation
- Excellent organization skills
- Logical approach to problem solving
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Remarkable team player skills to improve performance and help to reach goals: critical thinker, flexible, participative, reliable and proper communication abilities
- Self-management or working within multiple concurrent projects
- Must be detail oriented and able to handle advanced instruction
- Customer oriented, but ability to balance with strong cost control and management
- Self starter, disciplined and ability to work independently
- Working experience with ETL, Data Warehousing, Data Migrations or similar positions is an asset.
- If you live near one of our offices in either San Diego or Austin - we work in a hybrid capacity!
Nice to Haves:
- Working experience in the Legal industry will be an asset
- Working knowledge in Ruby on Rails is an asset
Additional Information...
The minimum annual salary for this position is $50,000 and the maximum is $60,000. The salary range for performing this role outside of the US / Austin / California may differ. AffiniPay is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and education.
